Rincón–Cacao Biological Corridor: A Living Bridge
Spanning Guanacaste and Alajuela, the Rincón–Cacao Biological Corridor unites the Pacific and Caribbean slopes, creating a continuous link between the Rincón de la Vieja and Cacao volcanoes. Its vital role is to ensure the free movement of species, providing shelter and aiding adaptation to climate change. Thanks to restoration including natural regeneration, the forest has regained its strength and diversity, renewing ecosystems that were once degraded.
